Eight varsity basketball players earned ISL All-Conference recognition this season, with four named to the First Team, three to the Second Team, and one receiving an Honorable Mention.
First Team honors went to seniors Ariel Goodman, Connor Kernan, Josh Solovy, and Ellie Szczerba. Junior Cali King, junior Rohin Shah, and senior Thomas McLaughlin were named Second Team All-Conference, while senior Teagan Moroney earned an Honorable Mention.

Beyond the individual awards, both the boys and girls programs also celebrated major team and coaching achievements. The girls basketball team finished the season as 3A Regional Champions, while the boys team also earned a title this season as ISL Co-Champions.
Girls basketball coach and eighth-grade history teacher Max Rouse was also recognized at the state level, earning a spot in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association’s 2026 Hall of Fame class.
Coach Rouse has led the varsity girls basketball team for 20 seasons and holds a 419–140 career record at Latin. His selection to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame also marks the first time a Latin coach has received the honor.
The athletes and coaches were publicly honored during the winter sports celebration on Tuesday.
Among the honored players was senior Ellie Szczerba, who said, “Being [ISL First Team] for the second year in a row feels amazing because it makes me think I have made both my team and my younger self really proud of all the work I have put in.”
