The varsity boys basketball team beat U-High 60–47 on Friday night in their last home game of the season, crowning Latin as co-ISL champions for the second time since 2019.
“It was a great team win. I’m super proud of all the guys,” junior Theo Villers said. “I’m super happy we get to cement our legacy and put it up in the rafters—we got an ISL championship!”
The Romans were in the lead most of the game, up around 15 points at the end of each quarter.
“The energy in the building was incredible,” junior Stofer Stineman said. “We had all grades come out in the stands, being one together as a community.”
The game brought out a huge crowd, comprised of students, parents, and teachers. The student section in the bleachers was filled, everyone enthusiastically cheering on their team.
“I’ve always loved coming to games,” Stofer said. “This one was truly spectacular, though. Truly, I couldn’t have imagined an ISL championship game any better. It was beautiful.”
