This Thursday, the varsity girls basketball team dominated the court in a thrilling and hard-fought game against IC Catholic Prep.

“Last year, we beat ICCP on their senior night by just one point in double overtime,” junior and varsity basketball player Myla Robertson said. “So we were anticipating a close match-up.”

The beginning of the game was tight, and the Romans scored the majority of their points off of fouls. At halftime, they had a mere one-point lead, with a score of 19–18. However, toward the end of the game, the team worked together to skyrocket the score.

“At the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth quarter we really cemented our lead, and everyone was really excited,” Myla said.

After four quarters of pure grit and intensity, the Romans secured the win with a final score of 58–40.

“Tonight we played as a team, locked them down on defense, and definitely outplayed them,” Myla said.
