Girls Swimming Starts Off Season With Tight Loss To Ignatius

Helen Lyons Guest Writer The Latin Varsity Girls Swim Team headed off to the UIC Natatorium today to face St. Ignatius in the girls first meet of the year. In a very tight and grueling duel, the Romans fell 90-88. Though the Romans lost, the following people swam exceptionally well: Senior Emma Hirshman in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:57 (it was her first swim meet), sophomore Emma Michalak in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 29 seconds, senior Jessica Andruzzi in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:13 (faster than her Sectionals time last year), and the JV 200 Freestyle Relay (specifically freshman Maria Cheadle with a time of 49 seconds (she dropped two seconds)). The girls next meet is this Saturday, the 11th, at Hinsdale South High School.]]>
