Along with the army of freshmen that will be joining us this year, there are also a few new faces in other grades.
This year Saniya Jaffer will be joining the 12th grade (also known as the best grade ever), and her brother, Salman, will be joining the incoming freshman in the 9th grade. Before coming to our fair Chicago Saniya lived in Miami and went to Ranson Everglades high school. When I asked Saniya what she’s looking forward to this year, she beamed and told me she’s excited to meet new people and make new friends.
Zachary Gonzalez will be joining the 11th grade this year. He’s coming to us from Brentwood, Tennessee, so we’ll have to apologize in advance for the cold winter that awaits him. He has an older brother who is a freshman at Otterbein University, a liberal arts institution in Ohio. When asked for a fun fact, he told me that he is left-handed (my fun fact is that I’m a lefty too). He’s excited to meet new people and play baseball.
Emily Sinegal will be joining us in the 10th grade this year. She’s coming to us from the American School of Paris. She has an older sister is attending SAIC (School of the Art Institute Chicago). Just when you thought she couldn’t be more international, when I asked her for a fun fact she told me that she was born in Tokyo. She’s excited to attend her first American high school.
I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to talk to Pranav Nandan, but he will be joining the 11th grade this year.
Keep your eyes peeled for these guys this week and make sure to say hey!
