Water Polo Recap

Dylan Levin Staff Writer What is the definition of insanity? The Latin Men’s Water Polo team! The team had a fantastic season going 28-5 just barely missing the chance to go to state. Led by captains A.J. Galainena and Luca Pasquesi, the team looked unstoppable towards the end of the season. Along with sophomores like Jacob Himmel, Eddie Wicks and James Ruggerio, juniors like Evan Dent, Jordan Spear, Nick Weiss, and Miles Rosenblatt, and with goaltender Sam Sheahan, this team was truly a powerhouse in the state. From the beginning of the season, the water polo team had a mission of being one of best teams in the state and they truly accomplished this task. From the start, the team worked extremely hard on their legs, swimming, passing, and shooting. Evan Dent stated, “The team worked really hard this year, and it paid off. We’re really good, and we’re not done yet…like a rat does cheese.” The highlight of the season was when the team beat the fourth ranked school: Lions Township High School. In the game Jacob Himmel scored five times. Although the team has three starters leaving, James Ruggiero commented, “The team will work even harder and we will all accomplish wondrous things next year. I promise that we will beat Ignatius!” The true definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome each time. Next year the water polo team will have a different outcome. As Kyle Sheahan put it: “Latin water polo: the perfect combination of swag and substance.”]]>
