The Mindfulness, Meditation, and Stress Management P-Week kicked off with one of the furriest activities of the project: petting bunnies at Cuddle Bunny Chicago. There were six rabbits available for students to visit with: Cash, Fiona, Kirby, Little Bear, Pepe, and Waddle Dee. The bunnies were housed in three enclosures, and one rabbit roamed free to interact with students between rotations.
Other bunnies (including a 20-lb. Flemish giant) greeted the student group more briefly during a tour of the Cuddle Bunny facilities. Students learned lots about rabbit care, bonding, and breeds. As they met the bunnies, they were also given an opportunity to feed them small treats, and some bunnies even performed tricks.
After their visit, the group grabbed lunch before walking through the park back to Latin, where the day ended with reflection and meditation.
Tuesday started off strong, with more meditation and mindfulness before students headed to Eb and Flow yoga for a group class. The class included lots of partner work, as well as individual movement. Afterwards, the group headed back to Latin for a mindfulness documentary, coloring, and more reflection to end the day.
