JV Girls Volleyball Finishes Third in Tournament Pool

Mehr Singh Co-Sports Editor This past Saturday, Latin hosted a JV Girls volleyball tournament. Latin JV Girls team put up a strong fight against very strong competition. The other teams in Latin’s pool included Luther North, Immaculate Conception, and Woodlands. The girls first played Luther North and kept their undefeated streak for this season, winning the match. They played Immaculate Conception, which proved to be a harder game, with the JV girls losing the match. Setter, Lita Araysi, ran up and down the court, doing everything she could to get the ball over. Next up was Woodlands, who, up to that point,  had been undefeated in the tournament. Latin lost the first game, but after playing aggressively, was able to win the second game 27-26. Freshman and front-row hitter, Jen Costa, was strong at the net, with five kills. Maggie Nemoy and Eloise Cotton both helped to save the team by scoring fast points with their hard serves. Latin finished the tournament third in their pool. Walter Payton played Woodlands for first place and won. The tournament was fun for all the teams and the JV girls look forward to their game against U-High onTuesday!]]>
