Varsity Girls Volleyball Protects Home Court

Lindsey Bell Co-Features Editor

The Latin Girls Varsity Volleyball Team, known on campus as the “V-Squad”, played Luther North in their home opener earlier today. This year, the V-Squad is captained by three seniors, Teddy Nagaro, Peyton Pritikin, and Jacqueline Surdell. The team came out strong in front of a huge home-game crowd, winning 25-13 in the first game and 25-18 in the second. Star junior Nikki Dizon had a great game with some big swings, but Luther North’s defense held strong and was able to get a touch on almost every ball. Sophomore Nicole Heckman had a great game up at the net and Nagaro was on a serving role, as usual. Even with Luther North’s undying stamina, Latin wiped them out in two games. The team takes the court again in uniform next Tuesday, facing off in a tough away match against Timothy Christian High School.
