Interview with Ernesto Cruz, History

Ernesto Cruz joins Latin as the upper school Global Studies coordinator. In addition to teaching and coordinating the ninth grade history course, Ernesto will be teaching US Social History and Comparative Religions. He comes to us from Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep in Waukegan where he was the director of College Readiness. Ernesto has also taught in public schools in New Mexico, Kansas and Missouri where he coached baseball, led trips abroad, taught Spanish, English, history, psychology and life skills while earning multiple awards for his teaching. Ernesto is originally from Elgin, IL and an alumni of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, Carleton College (B.A.) and St. John’s College (M.A.).
