Boys Soccer Update

Julian Passman Staff Writer On a warm September Saturday, the Latin Boys soccer team woke up early to play a 10am road game at Gordon Tech. They came out of the gates quickly and the score was 1-0 within the first ten minutes on a goal by Teddy Cohn. “We came out strong in the beginning and maintained that throughout the game,” Midfielder Alex Mendosa said about the team’s performance. Shortly after their first goal, freshman Philip Demeulenaere scored on an assist from Henry Schuler giving the Romans a 2-0 lead. Teddy Cohn and Ian Spear scored later in the game for Latin, helping the Romans to a 4-1 defeat of Gordon Tech. Captain and Goalie Justin Kaplan, limited Gordon Tech to only one goal and provided a source on which the defense could rely on. “We had a lot of chances and we finished well,” Henry Schuler said of the team’s play. The Romans have won three straight games and are posed for a victory on homecoming where they will face Northside Prep.]]>
