I love an outfit that just makes me stop in my tracks. The dress itself is boring, but I think the point was to make her accessories pop. As it is, the look feels unbalanced without any gold on the bottom—I would appreciate a trim or a slit and a cool pair of shoes. Overall, I'm loving this whole corset moment and the headdress. She looks so good—regal, honestly.

The accessories almost make up for the dress being so boring. I feel like she wanted to emphasize the jewelry, but she could have played into the accessories without wearing a dress that looked like it could belong to anyone’s gala-attending mother. Dress aside, I’m in love with the details on her accessories. I like how the corset and earrings don’t perfectly match, but still complement each other so well.

Most Wrinkled Suit

Troye Sivan

I like this little ethereal moment. The purple, the sheer button-down, the scarf—the colors are beautiful. However, the suit does look a little wrinkled, which I'm not a huge fan of. But if that's the one drawback, oh well.

For some reason, this outfit reminds me of Timothée Chalamet’s Willy Wonka. I just feel like that’s something he would wear. I love the color; it’s not something I saw in a lot of outfits, but that hazy, foggy shade is really aesthetically pleasing. I’m going to second Roxie on the wrinkles. I can imagine him saying, “Whoops, the Grammys are today? I’ll just wear this suit that’s been folded up in my closet, but I’m going to look great in it.”

Weirdest Belt

Sabrina Carpenter

Honestly, I was disappointed. I know she can do better. I will say this shade of blue is absolutely her color (but isn’t everything?), and I adore the bottom of the dress. The top, though, feels awkward, and what was going on with that piece in the middle? I love Sabrina Carpenter, but I do think she looks like a lampshade here.

She looks like she could be from Whoville. The weird, frizzy band around her stomach is nothing short of unflattering. I do, however, like the color of the piece, and the illusion that her necklace is holding up the entire dress.

Best Outfit for Someone We Don’t Know

Avery Wilson

Love, love, love. Eye catching.

I don’t even know who this is, but he delivered. The flowers are so interesting and avant-garde, and the colors really make everything pop. Props to him for not falling into the trap of wearing the most stereotypical, neutral-colored suit at the Grammys … unlike every other male celebrity.

Most Controversial Footwear

Charli XCX

I adore this dress. I tend to be a fan of brighter colors, but this look is a statement anyway, and I really love how big and bold it is. Lucia and I disagree about the boots, but I think Charli needs them. Otherwise, she would look like a pigeon.

The boots distracted me right away. Why, Charli? Why pair this beautiful, flowing dress with emo boots? The dress, as I said, is stunning. She reminds me of a raincloud—a really gorgeous raincloud. I think if she had paired the dress with some long, strappy, Greek-goddess-esque sandals, I would have liked the dress itself even more.

Best Sheer Look

Heidi Klum

Stunning. I’m obsessed. At big award shows or big celebrity events like the Grammys, celebrities will often wear something sheer and call it a day (cough cough Madison Beer), but Heidi Klum looked so elegant. And those sleeves! Incredible. It's all so cohesive. I love it—amazing, no notes.

My first thought was, “What is that necklace doing here?” A daintier piece would have complemented the details in the dress so well. Speaking of the dress, I think it’s interesting—it feels elegant but almost unsettling at the same time. What drew my attention away from her dress was the shawl, and not in a good way. I know that kind of fabric is becoming more popular, (see Ariana Grande’s dress for the 2024 Oscars), but it will always remind me of bedsheets.

Shiniest Dress

Cardi B

I am obsessed with Cardi B's outfit. She looks amazing, and I think the combination of the sparkles, the feathers, and the tassels worked so well. This look is exactly what I was hoping for at the Grammys; it's kind of weird and it's avant-garde. The colors go wonderfully together, and the whole outfit flows nicely. It's a beautiful dress.

I love, love, love a shimmery dress, and Cardi B pulled it off so well. The way the sequins taper off at the bottom is so nice to look out. To disagree with Roxie here, I want to ignore the feathers at the bottom, as I’m not sure how they go with the sequins, but at least the colors match.
