Juniors took the PSAT exam on Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the Field Gym. The exam, which contains a reading and writing section as well as a math section, helps prepare students for the SAT and qualifies students for National Merit Scholarships.
Students took the exam digitally and will be scored on a scale from 240 to 1520, with scores for each section ranging from 120 to 760. Scores will be accessible to students starting on Oct. 23.
Although the junior class was anxious for the test, they rallied to support each other. Junior Sadie Lyons said, “I’m just so ready. I’m excited to get it over with. And I feel like we got this.”
The test, which is approximately two hours long, replaced morning classes for juniors. They returned to their ordinary schedule in the afternoon.
Junior HJ Walberg offered encouragement for his peers. He said, “I think we should sharpen our pencils, quiet our doubts, and let the practice speak for itself.”
