The Dance Company is performing its annual dance show in the Wrigley Theatre at 7 p.m. on Thursday, featuring a range of dances choreographed and presented by Latin students.
The dance show preview took place at Gathering on Monday morning, beginning with a tap performance from junior Kelsey Riordan to “History Repeating” by Propellerheads. Transitioning from tap to contemporary, senior Mel Butler performed a tribute to her late uncle, beginning with her self-authored spoken word poem, “Grief,” and then a performance to “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron. Concluding the preview, the team performed a group jazz number to the song “The 20th Century Fox Mambo” by SMASH Cast.
As the dancers bowed, students applauded and cheered. Freshman Karly Shukert said, “The preview showed the talent that Latin students have and the support the community has for everyone’s interests.”
