Tastes of TikTok: Donut Bacon Cheeseburger Debut

Senior Mel Butler takes a bite of the Donut Bacon Cheeseburger.

Latin students filed into the cafeteria on Tuesday to a hole new twist on bacon cheeseburgers: The Donut Bacon Cheeseburger. Reactions to this sticky situation ranged from intrigue to pure disgust.

Inspired by a TikTok video, New Head Chef Gabriel Urunuela implemented this unique combination of sweet and savory in an attempt to shake up the menu. HandCut served a whopping 300 Donut Bacon Cheeseburgers.

Chef Urunuela said, “I think the students liked [the burgers,] but teachers didn’t as much.”

However, not all students gave a five-star rating.

Senior Jeremiah Wheatley said, “My face is red because I’m being inflamed by the amount of sugar and calories in this food. Absolutely abhorrent.”

Despite some subpar reviews, students should expect this lunch to make a reappearance along with some other culinary surprises according to Chef Urunuela.

As a junior, Cherish could not be more excited for her third year on The Forum. Cherish looks forward to continuing to serve as a Sports Editor and relay up-to-date information for our Romans, while also giving proper recognition to our many sports teams. She is most interested in continuing to write about topics that affect students both within and outside the school building. When she isn't writing, you can find her practicing photography, attending concerts, or diving nose deep into rows of LPs at a record store!
