Lollipops, Nutri-Grain bars, juice boxes, and positive affirmations: the secret ingredients for creating a snack bag for Asian Youth Services. On Thursday, tenth and fifth grade buddies came together during advisory to do their part in community service.
An arrangement of activities was available for the buddies to participate in: collecting ingredients for the bags, writing cards, coloring the bags, and packing the snacks. These tasks and an upbeat pop playlist running in the background helped unite the Lower and Upper School community for a good cause.
“Today reminded me about how important it is to be mature around the younger generations and to be a good role model,” sophomore Ani Mehta-Shah said. “I really enjoyed how we were able to set the example for demonstrating how important community engagement is.”
Sophomore Landry Silvers said he enjoyed the bonding aspect the most, noting, “The community service hours were a great way to connect with my classmates while doing something good for our community.”
