Students visiting Latin from the Goldberg Gymnasium in Sindelfingen, Germany, performed a rendition of “Murder on the Nile” on Friday for the Upper School.
The group of 23 flew in from Amsterdam the night before, arriving late because of delays. Still, with just two hours of sleep, they went into the performance with enthusiasm.
The play was a 100-minute production, taking place during what would be long block on a regular day. It followed the story of a group of wealthy passengers aboard a cruise, where the guests’ complicated pasts led to a murder, and a “whodunit” ensued.
The German students headed to the Learning Commons after the performance to answer questions and chat with Latin students.
Latin sophomore Stella Tate Ricciardi-Fitzpatrick, who played the main role of Nelly Fail in Latin’s recent production of “Failure: a Love Story,” said, “It was really fun to see students from a different school perform for us. They were all so talented, and it was really impressive how they were able to act in a language that isn’t their first.”
