She’s only a sophomore, but Sara Cutinho certainly has learned her way around the Upper School.
Lizzy Miller (LM): What has been the most exciting part of your sophomore year so far?
Sara Cutinho (SC): So far, Homecoming was really fun, but also our grade is starting to talk to each other more and become more comfortable with each other.
LM: What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far throughout high school?
SC: Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself, because teachers are always willing to meet, even if you’re afraid or embarrassed to ask for extra help.
LM: What are you looking forward to during the rest of your time at Latin?
SC: I am excited for senior year, but also sad about it, but I know finishing out my Latin experience is going to be fun.
LM: What would you like to accomplish this school year?
SC: Staying on top of my school work. The first couple weeks have been a little hard because I feel like I have had so much more work than last year already. But I just am planning to stay on top of it, because once you get behind, it’s hard to come back.
LM: What is on your bucket list to complete in your lifetime?
SC: I want to go bungee jumping.
LM: What is your greatest skill in life?
SC: I am able to adjust well to different situations.
LM: If a friend could describe you in one word or phrase, what would they say?
SC: They would probably say I’m outgoing.
LM: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
SC: My brother told me high school goes away really fast, but he also said to make sure to have a balance between school and social life. He graduated from here and gives me really good advice from his time at Latin.
LM: Do you have a favorite flower?
SC: I really love tulips, specifically pink ones.
LM: What movie or TV show character is most like you?
SC: Amy from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
LM: If your life was a TV show, what would be the theme song?
SC: Anything Sabrina Carpenter or Taylor Swift. My favorite Sabrina song is “Lie to Girls” and for Taylor, anything off the “reputation” album.
