Last Saturday, Romans of all ages gathered at Wilson and Montrose Fields for the culminating event of Homecoming week: Romans Fest. Throughout the week, Romans demonstrated their school spirit with dress-up days, Homecoming games, pep rallies, and Convocation.
At Romans Run, Lower Schoolers dashed around the track while the Upper School soccer and field hockey teams competed in their Homecoming games against Parker. Latin filled the fields with bouncy houses, a mechanical bull, inflatable sumo wrestling, and other fun challenges.
The tots kicked off the races at 11 a.m. Junior Kindergarten through fourth grade raced every 10 minutes. Teachers and parent volunteers passed out medals to the finishers, while the cross country team guided the runners around the track. Junior and cross country athlete Sebastian Lee-Yee said, “ I liked leading all the little kids, even though some of them were faster than me.”
First grader Lev Liss recalled that the best part of his day was “getting to be in the top 10 fastest.”
