Latin’s JV field hockey team was caught off guard by an uncut, uneven grass field at Glenbard West, leading to a challenging 4-0 loss on Wednesday as the unpredictable conditions disrupted their game strategy.
The team found themselves on their heels early in the game, struggling to defend as Glenbard West fought hard. Despite passing improvements, miscommunication among players ruined scoring opportunities, leaving Latin trailing Glenbard West 3-0 at halftime.
The second half allowed for a bit of redemption by Latin on defense. Sophomore defender Arden Brown dominated the backfield and allowed only one goal in the final 30 minutes.
JV captain, junior Lia Goldstein, said, “I am excited, the team will build on what worked and come out strong for our Homecoming rivalry game.”
