The varsity boys basketball team won the Regional title by defeating Michele Clark High School 64-54 last Friday.

“This Latin team is battle-tested,” Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Aubrey Denard said. “The level of basketball we have played in our season up until this point has prepared us to win championships. The Regional Championship was a game that came down to preparation. We were the more prepared team, so we dominated the game from a strategic standpoint.”

Coach Denard added, “I think my team has learned to listen with their eyes and watch what their opponents do more than what they say. With this mindset it gives us the confidence to be aggressive within our offensive and defensive concepts, allowing us to compete against anyone.”

On February 27 at 7 p.m., the team will be competing against Timothy Christian in the sectional semifinal.

“We plan to keep our mind focused on execution and fight to stay together through adversity,” Coach Denard said.
