This week, senior Drew Lufrano opens up about random acts of kindness and phone ban reactions.

Scarlet Gitelson (SG)

You’re a superhero. What’s your power?

SG
DL

I would like to teleport just because I think that’d be cool. I could do a bunch of things super quickly.

What music is playing during the fight scene montage?

SG
DL

Probably some Jon Pardi, just because he’s my favorite artist, even though it wouldn’t be cool, but it’s just good music.

What fictional character would you say you relate to the most, and why?

SG
DL

From the show “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” Jake Peralta, because he’s pretty funny and pretty cool. I don’t know if other people view me like that, but I’d say myself I do.

Why is being funny something that’s important to you?

SG
DL

I think just being a good person and just being funny can brighten everyone’s mood.

You’re three weeks into senior year. What’s been your favorite moment of this year so far?

SG
DL

I like when teachers take people’s phones and it’s not me. And I think it’s pretty funny.

What are your thoughts on the phone ban?

SG
DL

I think it’s good because I think there’s definitely been more conversation. But I don’t like how everyone’s just mirroring.

Who’s a person you admire in the Latin community, and why?

SG
DL

I’d say Noah Katz, just because he’s super confident and kind and he’s such an upstander. When he sees something that’s wrong, he always goes to fix it or calls people out when they know they’re doing wrong to make sure it doesn’t happen again. And I think it’s great for the community.

Is there anything you do to kind of try to contribute to the community in that same way?

SG
DL

I’d say yeah. Even the small things like cleaning up after people at lunch or just saying “hi.”
