Upper School students rose from their beds as usual on Monday morning, toasted bagels, and brushed their teeth before leaving for class, but many skipped an often dreaded, yet imperative, step in their everyday morning routine: changing out of their cozy pajamas and into their school clothing.
Pajama Day marks the first dress-up day of a fun-filled week leading up to the “Big Games”: Latin vs. Parker basketball.
Students roamed the halls wearing plaid pants, sweatshirts, and slippers, making the Monday of this annual week just a bit more cozy.
“It's a nice excuse to be comfortable at school,” senior Kate Malaisrie said. “I would rather wear my pajamas than a pair of jeans.”
The majority of students get their pajama pants from the Latin spirit shop or, in the case of seniors, as a senior treat. As a result, many students unintentionally twin with other students.
“It's funny that we are almost all wearing the same outfit,” senior Sanya Arora said. “The day could be mistaken for Twin Day.”
Senior Yerin Lee agreed. “It could also be mistaken for Spirit Day because everyone is rocking their Latin pajamas,” she said. “It's like a three in one.”
