As Latin seniors start to receive admissions decisions from colleges, it is both an exciting and stressful time at Latin.

Last week, senior Reilly Henderson was accepted into Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development. Reilly’s experience at sleepaway camp led to her decision to major in elementary education, “I saw the effect that positive role models had on younger campers,” she said. “I want to be a positive influence on younger people in the world.”

Senior Kate Weiskirch was recently accepted early decision (ED) to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Kate plans to major in recording arts, which she described as “audio engineering and music production.” She picked this major because of her love for music, yet admitted she was nervous about the early decision process as she had toured Loyola Marymount only a few weeks before the ED deadline.

“Making that decision in that short amount of time was difficult,” Kate said. “Now that I’m committed, I’m so happy. … After my decision came back, I was very emotional and excited, but overall [it was] an amazing experience.”

Earlier this month, senior Jordyn Kohn was accepted ED to Tulane. Jordyn, who is choosing to major in business, noted, “I am interested in doing something related to marketing.”
