Latin’s varsity girls volleyball team battled Timothy Christian in the Super-Sectional final Monday night, ending their successful season with a narrow loss. The squad lost both sets 25-23 against one of the top ranked teams in Illinois.

Athletic Director Katie Johnson organized a fan bus, allowing more than a dozen Upper and Middle School students to make the trek to Elmhurst to cheer on their classmates in the packed stadium.

“Having the support of the fans was a game changer,” senior star player Daley McDermott said.

The team sported a 19-9 record this season, including an undefeated 6-0 record in Independent School League competition—an impressive improvement over last year’s 16-11 finish.

“Having such amazing team camaraderie and winning the ISL was a super special way to end my high school volleyball career,” Daley said. “I just love this team so much.”
