JV and Varsity Volleyball Take Care of Willows Academy

Mehr Singh Co-Sports Editor The Latin Girls Volleyball teams played a conference game against Willows Academy today at home. The JV match proved to be a fairly easy win for the girls, after they won the first game 25-17. Setter on the team, Lita Araysi, made some great tips that caught the other team off guard. Sydney Bell, sophomore and middle hitter, was aggressive at the net, pushing the ball back over the net any chance she got. The team went on to win the second game 25-12 with freshman Emily Salzman having some great kills at the net. Another freshman and outside hitter on the team, Nicole Golub, had some strong hits, which helped Latin win many points. Varsity had the same type of success in the following match, putting away Willows fairly easily. This gives the V-Squad a 3-0 record in conference play so far in the ISL, already defeating U-HIgh and Elgin. Tomorrow, the girls continue their ISL matches with a home game against Parker.]]>
